Summer is the ideal time to get the kids out and get them moving. The hardest part is finding ways to get children moving and enjoying the outdoors. Its even harder with the constant allure of sedentary technology options such as texting, instagram, snapchat and an unlimited amount of shows, games and streaming options.

Making homemade colored sand is an easy and fun activity, it also costs a lot less then buying colored sand and will keep the kids busy!
What you will need:
Color My World Coloring Tablets
Plastic Cup (preferably clear) for mixing colors
1/2 Cup of water (per each color)
1 Gallon Size Ziploc Freezer Bag (1 bag per color)
Fill the ziplock bag half full with white sand.
Fill clear plastic cup with 1/2 cup of cold water.
Select your color tablet of choice. We choose to use blue.
Drop the color tablet into the water and watch it fizz and change the water color.
Pour your newly made colored water into the bag of white sand.
Seal the bag.
Shake the bag to mix the color into the sand. It also works well to massage bag with your hands to mix the color.
If you want the color lighter simply add more white sand.
If you want the color darker - mix 1 color tablet with 1/4 cup of water and add it to existing sand mixture.
